Always handwash your wool sweater. It may sound like a hassle, but the good news is that you don’t have to wash it very often. Wool is a natural fabric and the fibers are more resistant to grime and stink. Therefore sometimes it’s enough just to hang your sweater outside in the fresh air for a while. -And friendlier for the enviroment.
When washing your sweater make sure the water is lukewarm and use wool soap or mild soap. Soak your sweater in the soapy water for about 10 minutes, do not wring or rub. Then change the water and rinse the garment thoroughly. Wrap your garment in a towel and carefully squeeze out as much water as possible. Then place your sweater flat on a dry towel and pull gently into shape. When washing a cardigan, help keep the shape by buttoning it before washing.
With a little extra care, your quality wool sweater will last longer. Carefully follow the washing instructions and your sweater will last for generations.
